Our Services

Utilizing these highly skilled subcontractor corrections experts, Creative Corrections provides the following services for state, local and federal correctional systems:

Vulnerability Assessment

You can greatly reduce, if not eliminate, the risk of escape or other violations of your security systems by having Creative Corrections perform an on-site vulnerability assessment (VA) of your facility. Some years ago, Sandia National Laboratories developed the Estimate of Adversarial Sequence Interruption Model (EASI) to assess the effectiveness of perimeter security technologies designed to prevent terrorists from entering nuclear facilities. Since it worked so well to determine if technologies can keep people out, it was subsequently adapted for corrections to assess perimeter and other security technologies designed to keep inmates in their institutions. But electronic fence protection, video surveillance, electronic door and gate, and metal detection and x-ray control systems are only part of the answer. To ensure security you need to also assess the physical plant, particularly every area where inmates are allowed access, review internal custodial procedures and policies and observe staff deployment and practices.

Creative Corrections has developed an on-site vulnerability assessment (VA) process that combines the use of the EASI and a team of experienced corrections experts to systematically evaluate any correctional institution’s security systems and procedures by:

  • Observing security processes and procedures during every shift
Reviewing relevant custodial policies and procedures
  • Conducting performance tests of existing security technology including electronic fence protection, video surveillance, electronic door and gate, and metal detection and x-ray control systems
  • Evaluating existing escape pathways and determining the probability of the success of existing escape prevention and detection procedures and technologies by utilizing the EASI computer-modeling program

The VA team leader is a retired federal high security warden who has conducted vulnerability assessments as well as training on how to utilize the VA approach systemically for eight states including large systems like Ohio, Texas, Washington and Colorado. All observations and recommendations contained in the VA team report are confidential and become the sole property of the agency requesting the assessment.
