Creative Corrections training programs include, but not limited to:
- Institution operations and security (including leading and managing correctional facilities; policy and procedures; use of force - including use of force team techniques; management and leadership of security operations, human resource management - correctional officer rosters; intelligence operations, and emergency preparedness);
- Food service administration (including safe food handling; establishing a food service safety system; purchasing and receiving safe food; keeping food safe in storage; protecting food in preparation and serving; cleaning and sanitizing equipment and premises; accident prevention and crisis management; ongoing employee sanitation training program; preventing food contamination and food borne illness; accident prevention and action for emergencies, and writing contracts for service;
- Health care (including health care utilization review process; policies/procedures for the efficient operation of health services including the intake screening process and triage/sick call; credential verification/privileging of health care providers; quality management; ACA health care requirements, and performance based contracts for health services)
- Safety and environmental issues (including workshops for correctional workers responsible for conducting weekly and monthly institution inspections to ensure a safe and healthful environment for staff and inmates to work and live; safety inspections; follow-up and corrective actions; personal protective equipment; electrical safety lock-out/tag-out; confined space entry; asbestos and lead identification; employee and inmate safety training; control and labeling of hazardous materials; ACA pre and post training for safety standards; workers compensation cost effectiveness; environmental health; housekeeping/sanitation controls; personal hygiene for detainees; cross contamination/hair care services; blood borne pathogens/infection control; life safety and fire protection; hazardous/non-hazardous furnishings; fire drills; emergency (contingency) plans, and control and communication of hazardous materials.
